Saturday night someone asked how a great show could stop at 9pm on a Saturday night, when there were four bands hanging out back stage? At that point I really had no idea what had happened, it took a couple weeks to figure out, but eventually I pieced it together.
Many people believed that the show was shut down due to lack of funds, this is partially true. At 8pm I had four bands back stage, Colonel Mustard was waiting to see if they could play again, after their mind blowing set on Friday, they weren't done yet. Three other bands were on site and ready to rock. I gathered the three together and told them that cash was running short and I was willing to buy a band out of their contract or would have to pay one of them on Monday after the banks opened. While Mojo Filter was rocking the house out, I left the bands to discuss the situation. I went to the gate to check receipts, while I was there Colonel Mustard came up and told me they were leaving because it didn't look like they would get to play again and it was a long ride back to Boston. we said our good byes and they rode off into the sunset.
A couple minutes later, the other three bands appeared at the gate and said they were not going to play and all wanted out of their contracts. I settled up with them and returned to the stage to announce that the show was over, wondering what the hell happened back stage. Later I found out that another Promoter was back stage and reportedly said to the bands "Let's shut this turkey down, he is a nobody who doesn't deserve this venue." He promised the bands a place at his next show if they would walk out on mine. It turns out that he had a problem with Tune Town because Glen had refused to rent the facility to him, because he is such a scum bag. All I have to say is that One World Tribe should be ashamed with themselves for walking out on their home town crowd. They and the other two bands will never be booked at a SShh festival again. The other promoter never did get another show off because no one will rent to his scumbag ass anymore and SShh will rock on without those back stabbers...
