A Few people have actually had the audacity to challenge the pricing of the little dogs re-homed through Jazzberry Farm?
After all puppies are free, you don't have to feed them clean them up, train them...The fact is that because we give away food grown here, other than donations, that the occasional re-homing of a dog is the only actual income that the farm has.
I have over $900 verifiable dollars invested in this years puppies so far...This year i am charging the same as last year $350 for boys and $500 for the girls.
So you want to know how I came up with the prices for the re-homing fees?
In my former professions I had a lot to do with marketing.
My first thought would be to charge by the pound, but alas that is offensive to many people and with little dogs it seems that the smaller the dog the higher the price.
I continuously watch the prices for similar dogs. Recent checks for similar dogs tells me $1000 - $2000 is the going rate for little dogs
I say similar because the truth is that, because of my breeding methods you can't buy these same dogs anywhere on the face of the earth.
Therefore it follows that I should charge $20,000 per dog, by some people's thinking. Each year I spend about
$1000 on vet bills.
$1000 on flea prevention
$1000 feeding dogsand I feed the mommy dogs for years...
I give friends and family discounts as well as the occasion "bro" discount and senior discounts as well.
So the 12 dogs that have gone off to the real world in the past six years, Two were gifted, and the rest between $100 and $500.
In the biggest picture, in the past six years I have spent at least $5000 on this little hobby,
and sent all of 12 dogs out into to the world and received a total of $2200 towards those expenses.
and some people afraid I might be making money...So if you were me what would you charge for 14 years of unconditional Love?
So in the end if you don't like my pricing make an offer, if I don't like your offer, you lose out on a beautiful little forever friend, not me.
