Politics and the Jesse Factor

There has been a lot of talk and speculation about just exactly what the recent win of Jesse the body Ventura to the governor's post of Minnesota means to the two party system and the future of politics itself. The two party system is a big part of the political problems we have been having in this country. Over the past three decades those in power have been stripping the American people of our freedoms and constitutional rights; They say for our own good, to fight communism , the drug scourge, terrorists, foreign madmen and to protect our economy. At the same time the "ruling parties" keep telling us we are wasting our votes on people that have no chance of winning. Well guess what you donkeys and elephants, no one wasted a vote on Jesse! If you check back in history you will find that the Democrats and Republicans were not always the two parties of choice. We had Whigs and Federalists and No nothings running this country. The way a political party loses it's status is when another party gets the vote out! The successful politician of the new millennium will be the one who brings out the vote from the disenfranchised youth of this country. It is time for a changing of the guard. No vote is wasted even if it's for Mickey Mouse, you are making a statement. When they say you'll waste a vote, what they mean is you are driving another nail in the coffin of those parties in power! It seems more than obvious to me that the ruling parties have put the ecosystem and the future of humanity itself at great risk, in order to line their personal pockets with corporate cash. Those who have been running this country for the past several decades belong on un-employment.

So will you be a good sheep? Will you go along with the flock, trusting government to take care of you? Do you vote Democrat or Republican because that is "what you are"? Do you blindly accept what you read in the Newspapers, who predicted low voter turnout and big wins for incumbents and Republicans in the 98 elections. Do you vote for the candidate you think will win, as if that somehow makes you a winner, too? or do you vote for the person who you believe will best represent your interests? One thing for sure if you vote for someone that doesn't care what you think, then you are wasting your right, your choice, supporting someone who will do nothing for you, which in the end is worse than not voting at all.
